Welcome to the 20's

01/27/2020

I entered the 20's by attending the HOLO Show of Eric Prydz, an artist I've been waiting to attend for the majority of the last decade. It took me an entire decade to find the right moment, the right city, the right night and the right amount of $$$ to attend the experience of my life. It wasn't just a concert, it was a storytelling session narrated by a Swedish DJ using 3-D visuals which made me feel like a Spaceman. At this point I realized that music and sports are the best forms of entertainment humans can ask for in their lifetime.

Once I got over with my hangover of Eric Prydz I moved back to investing in the stock market and was left astonished when I was hit by the news of BlackRock, the global leaders of financial services finally taking a stand towards going green. In a stroke, Larry Fink became one of the most powerful champions of green investing in global finance. For the first time I felt that a leader in the financial services industry is atleast taking the baby steps towards a greener future. But behind his new sustainable-investing push at BlackRock Inc. lies an uncomfortable truth: going green won't be easy or quick. But when you have assets worth $7 Trillion, I'm sure the 7 Billion humans will be able to breathe a sigh of relief within the next 7 decades.

After a perfect start to the year, we were hit by the terrible news of Kobe Bryant passing away this week. For someone who grew up loving sports because of athletes like Kobe Bryant, Roger Federer and Cristiano Ronaldo, this was a legendary loss. Kobe made me cry, Kobe made me laugh, Kobe got me excited on a Tuesday night, Kobe made me passionate about the game and The Los Angeles Lakers. I never got the chance to meet him in person but I can't tell the story of my own life without a scene that involves Kobe. I've been talking about Kobe for reason after reason and in year after year and I will keep talking about him forever and ever. MAMBA OUT!!!
